Gremlins In The Gas Tank (debunking the root cause relationship of effect)

Safety professionals, (OSHA)  as well as scientists often refer to a Root cause when investigating an accident or incident which damaged property or lead to personal injury.

If a person runs out of gas in their car and caused a traffic jam in the street,  the natural conclusion would be this person forgot or neglected  to put gas in their car thusly causing the traffic jam. Already we can see a story line of events which lead to the traffic jam.  The traffic jam might not of occured if the person had not ran out of gas thusly leading to a probable cause of the traffic jam. But we could continue to see effects from this one person neglecting to make sure he had gas in his tank, which lead to a traffic jam. But what if the traffic jam caused an accident which thusly lead to a death.

The stalled car lead to a traffic jam which lead to an accident which lead to a death.  Maybe the traffic jam, the accident and the death could have been avoided if their had been a police officer on the scene sooner or if someone else had been paying more attention.

Perhaps the car would not have stalled if it had not ran out of gas, and maybe it would not of ran out of gas if it had either been in proper mechanical condition or it had been filled before hand.

There are two viable reasons which lead to the driver not having gas in their car. One is they did not put gas in. two they did put gas in but it ran out.

There are also viable reasons why it would of ran out. The gas gage was not working, or maybe the gas  tank had a hole in it, or perhaps he used more then he normally did that morning when he gunned it trying to beat a train. which lead to a loss of a quarter tank.

Maybe he just didn’t put enough gas in the tank to begin with. This could of been the result of not being able to afford the gas, which would of been the result of not having any money with them. or maybe their wasn’t any gas stations around there.

If he couldn’t put gas in his tank maybe it is because he didnt have any income, he didn’t have any income because he didn’t have a job.

But what the bottom line is that when we allow room for compromise, throw caution to the wind and totally ignore Murphy’s law by not doing things that we should and doing thngs we shoudn’t be doing , this sometimes opens up doors for all kinds of bad thngs, Evil is in itself its own root cause and has no depth that is too deep because like Holiness it is infinite in its source but unlike holiness it is limited unless we allow it in. Once we do it is not a question of what kinds of things ( unexpected) will result but where will it leave us.
