Still The Same

I have heard many people say in response to who God is,” to them”. God does not change for anyone. He is the same today as he was and as he will always be? It is because of our religious views that we see God as we do. But this may have been taken the wrong way. Because who God is to some is not who God is to others. To some he is their salvation, their refuge, their rest, their council and their Great I Am, among many other things, he can be many things to those who trust in him but To others who have not received his saving grace he is someone whom they call upon in times of trouble, and then when things start going good for them they once again begin to take charge and do what seems right in their own minds according to their own wants, needs and desires. I have discovered that even though i have never really liked religion, I have been very religious in my thinking because of who I believed God to be in my own mind and heart. Jesus once asked his disciples who they thought he was. They also thought to question John the Baptist the same way. So it is not just a question of who we think that God is but who we believe God to be.

18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am? 19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again. 20 He said to them, But whom say you that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God. 21 And he straightly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing; 22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
